Swansea Valley Evening Buses to Continue.
Good news for residents of the Swansea Valley comes as First announces that evening bus services from Swansea will continue beyond the temporary trial period.
The new timetable, which will be introduced from 27th July, will see evening buses leave Swansea (Kingsway*) for Pontardawe and Ystradgynlais at 1927, 2057 and 2227.
Evening services from Ystradgynlais Cross will leave at 1922 and 2052 (both through to Swansea) and 2222 and 2342 (to Pontardawe only).
First Cymru Managing Director Tony McNiff said that the trial period had been successful and that the revised services will continue until further notice.
"These services will now run commercially - that is, without any form of local authority subsidy." said Mr. McNiff
"The buses are convenient for those wishing to spend an evening out, either in Swansea or at one of the excellent events which take place at Pontardawe Arts Centre."
"We hope that these bus routes will be well used and continue make a positive contribution to community life."
* While the Quadrant Bus Station is closed for redevelopment, Swansea Valley services will depart from Kingsway, Stop Ke.
