Canals

Birmingham's canals add green space and vibrancy to Britain's second city. Take to the towpaths and enjoy a glorious stroll along the Worcester to Birmingham Canal or If it's a challenge you're after, why not hire a boat and try out Hatton Locks on the Grand Union Canal. With 21 locks elevating out of the Avon Valley, this stretch of canal linking Warwick and Birmingham is fondly known as the stairway to heaven. There are a number of places to eat, between Gas Street Basin, Broad Street and Brindleyplace, ranging from canal side pubs, bars, cafes and gourmet restaurants.

National Sealife Centre

Take an amazing marine voyage beneath the waves with plenty of things to do, see the UK's first Hammerhead Sharks, handle the crabs & touch the starfish in the interactive rock pool or walk through the million-litre underwater tank.
