YOZone card
YOZone card is a free young person's ID card giving discounted travel to 11-16 olds in York. If you're under 14 but look older, it can be a good idea to get a YOZone card to save yourself hassle.
To get a YOZone card, pop into City of York Council's Customer Centre at West Offices, Station Rise, York, between 0830 and 1700, Mondays to Fridays, or call them on 01904 551670.
You can use your YOZone card to buy FirstDay Child, FirstWeek Child and First4Week Child, as well as discounted single & return tickets.
Single & Return tickets for Young People
Children under 5 travel free - up to two children under 5 years of age travel free with each fare paying adult.
- Young People aged 5-10 pay just 80p for each single journey.
- Young People aged 11-16 who hold a YoZone card pay just 80p for each single journey
- Young People aged 11-13 who don't hold a YoZone card pay just £1.10 for each single journey, £1.60 for a return or £2.10 for a FirstDay ticket
- Young People aged 14 and over who don't hold a YoZone card pay the full adult fare
