YOzone cards are free ID cards, issued by City of York Council, giving discounted travel to 11-18 year olds living in York.
Two types of YOzone card are issued, one for young people aged 11-16 and a new card offering discounts to 16-18 year olds from 1 September 2013.
YOzone cards can be used to purchased a range of discounted tickets as shown below.
Children aged 5 to 16
Children under 5
Up to two children under 5 years of age travel free with each fare-paying adult.
Children aged 5 to 11 and young people aged 11 to 16 with a YOzone 11-16 card
These fares are issued to children under 11 and to young people aged 11 to 16 with a YOzone 11-16 card:
Young people aged 11 to 16 without a YOzone 11-16 card, but with other photo ID
These fares are issued to young people aged 11 to 16 who don't have a YOzone 11-16 card, but who are able to produce other photo ID, issued by a local or national government body or transport operator, clearly displaying date of birth.
Young People aged 16 to 18
From 1 September 2013 we're offering some great new tickets for young people aged 16-18.
Young people aged 16 to 18 with a YOzone 16-18 card
To buy these tickets you'll need a YOzone 16-18 card, which are issued by City of York Council. You'll need to fill in a form and supply a passport-size photo.
For an application form, visit the YOzone page on the itravelyork website. Completed forms can be sent by post to City of York Council or taken to the Bus & Visitor Information Centre at York Rail Station, where your application will be processed.

Note: Temporary YOzone cards are being issued which are valid until 31 October 2013. These temporary cards are NOT photo ID cards; they will be replaced with photo ID YOzone 16-18 cards in due course.

The normal Adult fare is payable.
