National Media Museum and IMAX

Bradford Theatres

The three main theatres in Bradford, The Alhambra, St. Georges Hall and The Alhambra Theatre Studio offer a huge range of entertainment. From music and comedy at St. Georges Hall to the big pantomime each year at the Alhambra.

The Leisure Exchange

The Leisure Exchange is right next door to Bradford Interchange. With a 16 screen Cineworld cinema showing the latest blockbusters and Bollywood movies, Hollywood bowl and a variety of restaurants. There's even a Gala Casino and a Holiday Inn Express.

The Leisure Exchange

Gallagher Leisure Complex, Thornbury

The Gallagher Leisure Complex is home to a 10 screen Odeon Cinema, an Esporta Health Club and an Aagrah Restaurant and Conference Centre.

How to get there: Catch services 636/7 (Orange Line) - check timetable for journeys to the Leisure Complex. Services 15, 72, X6 and X11 also stop nearby.

Swim

Bradford Ice Arena

Whether you're an expert skater or trying it for the first time Bradford Ice Arena makes for a great day out. Don't forget to wrap up warm!

How to get there: Catch services 576 (Lime Line), 570/1, 610/1/2, 613/4, 640/1 (Red Line), 846. Alternatively, catch any bus to Bradford City Centre and Bradford Ice Arena is only a short walk away.

Saltaire

Saltaire is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, thanks to its preservation as a Victorian industrial village. Sir Titus Salt's great mill is now home to the 1853 Gallery, including one of the largest collections of art by renowned Bradfordian David Hockney. It's also only a short walk through Roberts Park to the Shipley Glen Tramway.

How to get there: Catch services 622/3/5/6 (Purple Line) or 675/7 to Saltaire Roundabout. Minibus services 679 and 810 run directly through Saltaire Village.

Bradford Industrial Museum

Bradford's Industrial Museum has permanent displays of textile machinery, steam power, engineering and motor vehicles and is also home to the museum's team of working horses.

How to get there: Catch service 896. Service 645 (Green Line) also stops on Harrogate Road, a short walk from the Museum.

Lister Park and Cartright Hall

Cartwright Hall is Bradford's civic art gallery and offers an exciting programme of contemporary exhibitions, with four permanent galleries.

Cartwright Hall is set in the magnificent, Green Flag-awarded grounds of Lister Park, with a boating lake, adventure playground and Mughal Gardens.

Bradford 1 Gallery

The Bradford 1 Gallery is a new gallery right in the centre of Bradford on Centenary Square. It’s home to exhibitions of contemporary and historic art and craft. It will host shows from national and regional touring venues as well as drawing upon the major collections of the museums and galleries service.

Bolling Hall

Bolling Hall is situated just a mile from Bradford city centre in a quiet, leafy garden. With parts of the building dating from the Medieval, Bolling Hall is a rambling mixture of styles with every nook and cranny packed with history. During the Civil War the household supported the Royalist cause, and the house provided a stronghold during the 'siege of Bradford'.

Watch out for the 'White Lady' in the aptly named Ghost Room on your visit!

Bolling Hall

Five Rise Locks, Bingley

The Five Rise Locks are the most spectacular feature of the Leeds-Liverpool canal and is a great place for a walk amongst beautiful scenery.

How to get there: Services 616, 619, 622/3 (Purple Line) operate to Bingley Rail Station, a short walk from the Five Rise Locks.

Shipley Glen Tramway

The Shipley Glen Cable Tramway is the oldest working cable tramway in Great Britain (cliff lifts excepted). Dating from 1895, the line was built to serve the local beauty of Shipley Glen, near Saltaire in West Yorkshire. At nearly a quarter-mile in length, the woodland ride provides a pleasant alternative to the steep path. Please note the Tramway is currently undergoing work and is due to reopen in August 2009.
