The Job title

Main purpose of the job

To sell a service in the form of a bus journey to customers, satisfying their needs and encouraging them to travel again.

Main Duties

  1. Greeting customers and ensuring customer satisfaction through answering customer queries, providing information on services, routes, fares etc.
  2. Operating a service for customers on designated routes to a designated time-table, ensuring the safety and comfort of customers at all times.
  3. Efficiently taking fares and issuing tickets, using computerised equipment, checking concessionary fare tickets, multi-journey cards etc. ensuring compliance with Company and PTE policies and regulations.
  4. Balancing and accounting for cash receipts taken during the course of duties, paying in cash to cash-counting machines in accordance with Company procedures.
  5. Operating radio equipment in line with operational requirements.
  6. Conducting, within their expertise and training, vehicle checks and reporting as required any faults found.
  7. Collecting information (i.e. witness statements) and submitting written reports regarding accidents, incidents etc as necessary to minimise potential claims against the Company.
