New MD of First Yorkshire West & North

First, Yorkshires biggest bus operator, has appointed a new Managing Director to head up its West Yorkshire and York operations.

Dave Alexander will be the new MD and will take responsibility for Firsts bus operations in Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield and York. This involves more than 1,100 buses and more than 3,000 staff.

Dave, aged 43, has joined First from rival transport firm Transdev, where he was most recently Managing Director (Yorkshire), which included Harrogate and District Travel, Keighley and District and Yorkshire Coastliner.

Dave will be based at Firsts new £10 million depot in Hunslet, Leeds and will take over from Steve Graham who retires after 40 years in the bus industry.
