Under 5’s

Children under the age of 5 travel for free on First buses. Many of our buses are now low-floor giving mums and dads easy access when boarding with prams and pushchairs.

School Children

Up to the age of 11 you can make any journey in South Yorkshire for just 40p, but as soon as you reach your 11th birthday, you’ll need to obtain a MegaTravel pass which will last you until you leave school at 16. This pass entitles you to travel for the concessionary fare of 40p per journey in South Yorkshire. 16-18 Student Passes

If you live in South Yorkshire, are aged 16 to 18 and are in full-time education, you qualify for a Student Pass which will allow you to travel for the concessionary fare of 40p per journey on First buses in South Yorkshire.

No Pass? Then It's Full Fare!

In September 2003, South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive launched a campaign to ensure that all 11-18 year olds show a correct and valid travel pass when travelling for the 40p concessionary fare. Without a pass, you will not be entitled to the concessionary fare and will be required to pay full fare.
