What are we looking for?
- Applicants for bus driving vacancies should normally be 21 years of age or over, in general good health, hold a full ordinary UK driving licence and be free from any material convictions.
- Driving licences should have no more than 3 penalty points at the time of application.
- You need to be physically fit.
- You need to have a friendly, outgoing personality.
- You need to be confident working with minimal supervision.
- Experience of handling cash and working in a customer service environment would be useful.
- Pre-employment procedures will include drug screening, medical assessment, the enhanced Criminal Records Bureau checks, and references.
The Selection Process
You can apply online or call 01709 566153 for an application form. If your application is successful you will be invited to the next stage of the selection process.
This will involve visiting our depot in Rotherham and taking part in the following:
- A short assessment paper with questions on simple maths, hazard perception and the highway code.
- A short driving assessment with one of our friendly recruitment team.
- An interview with one of our recruitment team.
- A medical, conducted by the Company Doctor to check you are fit to meet PCV standards - this includes drugs screening.
If you are successful at this stage, we will discuss a date for you to start your training and an application will be made on your behalf for a Provisional PCV License with the DVLA. Once you receive your license you can join our Driver Training Programme. Please be aware that we carry out an enhanced CRB check on all new employees.
