Changes to bus services in Aston, Anston, Dinnington, Kiveton Park, Swallownest and Wales areas - 26th October 09

From Monday 26th October changes will be made to services operated by First in the above areas. Full details are as follows:

Service 21 Rotherham - Harthill - Sheffield
This service will operate between Sheffield and Harthill only. Between Harthill and Rotherham, buses will operate as NEW service 25. Passengers will continue be able to travel through on the 21/25 service.

Services 23 Rotherham - Dinnington - Sheffield
This service will be withdrawn. Between Sheffield and Dinnington this service will be partly replaced by new services X4, X5 & X6.

Service 23A Sheffield - Dinnington
This service will be withdrawn. Between Sheffield and Dinnington this service will be partly replaced by new services X4, X5 & X6 which will operate via Nursery Rd not Lakeland Drive & High Nook Rd.

Services 24 Rotherham - Dinnington - Sheffield
This service will be withdrawn and replaced by new services 25, 29, X4, X5 & X6.

NEW Service 25 Rotherham - Swallownest - Todwick - Harthill - Killamarsh
This new service will replace the 21 between Rotherham and Killamarsh. Service 25 serves Rotherham, Rotherham Hospital, Whiston, Aughton, Swallownest, Aston, Todwick, Kiveton Park, Harthill, Woodall, Norwood & Killamarsh. Most journeys will continue through to/from Sheffield as service 21. In Aston service 25 runs via Worksop Rd, Wesley Ave, Holderness Drive, Aughton Lane, Wesley Ave, Worksop Rd (buses will operate this way around the loop on journeys in both directions).

Service 26 Sheffield - Aston
This service will be withdrawn and replaced by new service X14 & X15.

Service 27 Rotherham - Aston - Crystal Peaks
Service withdrawn apart from one journey at 0735 from Crystal Peaks to Rotherham Mon-Fri. This journey will have a revised route is Aston. As normal from Crystal Peaks to Lodge Lane then left onto Worksop Rd then Wesley Ave, Holderness Drive, Aughton Lane, Wesley Ave, Worksop Rd then normal route to Rotherham.
Otherwise the service is replaced between Rotherham, Rotherham Hospital and Swallownest by NEW Services 25 and 29 and between Rotherham, Aston, Crystal Peaks by service 33.

NEW Service 29 Rotherham - Swallownest - Kiveton Park - Dinnington - Laughton Common This new hourly Mon-Sat daytime service will operate between Rotherham, Rotherham Hospital, Whiston, Aughton, Swallownest, Aston, Wales, Kiveton Park, South Anston, North Anston, and Dinnington to Laughton Common. Service partly replaces 21, 23, 24 & 27.

Service 33 Rotherham - Treeton - Aston - Crystal Peaks
One journey per hour will be extended from Treeton via Aughton, Aston, Swallownest and Beighton to Crystal Peaks partly replacing service 27. The route of the Crystal Peaks journeys will be as normal route to Treeton, Bole Hill then back along High Hazel Rd then Wood Lane, Treeton Lane, Aughton X-Rds, Main Street, Aston Lane, Mason Ave, Wesley Ave, Worksop Rd, Lodge Lane, Mansfield Rd, Swallownest Co-op then current 27 route to Crystal Peaks.

Service 206 Rotherham - Dinnington - Sheffield
All journeys will now start at Dinnington. In Dinnington buses will operate a shorter route via Littlefields Rd, New Rd, Nursery Rd. From Nursery Rd buses will operate the normal route to Sheffield.

NEW Service X4 Sheffield - Dinnington Circular
This new service will operate a circular service between Sheffield, Dinnington and back to Sheffield via Handsworth, Woodhouse Mill, Swallownest, Aston and Todwick Village to Dinnington then continuing back to Sheffield via North Anston, South Anston, Kiveton Park, Wales, Swallownest, Woodhouse Mill, Handsworth. One journey will operate from Thurcroft, Consort Hotel via Laughton Village to Dinnington before continuing onto Sheffield.

In Handsworth buses are limited stop calling at the following stops: - Asda, Richmond Road Top, Rotherham Rd outbound/Beaver Hill Rd Bottom inbound then all stops to/from Dinnington.

NEW Service X5 Sheffield - Dinnington Circular
This new service will operate between Sheffield and Dinnington. Buses will operate the opposite way round than the X4 i.e. outbound via Handsworth, Swallownest, Wales, Kiveton Park, South Anston, North Anston to Dinnington returning via Todwick Village, Aston, Swallownest and Handsworth.

In Handsworth buses are limited stop calling at the following stops: - Asda, Richmond Road Top, Rotherham Rd outbound/Beaver Hill Rd Bottom inbound then all stops to/from Dinnington.

NEW Service X6 Sheffield - Dinnington - Thurcroft
This new service will operate between Sheffield and Dinnington mainly operating Mon-Sat early mornings/evenings Mon-Fri peak periods and all day Sunday. Between Sheffield and Dinningtonservice X6 will run via Handsworth, Swallownest, Wales, Kiveton Park, Todwick, South Anstonand North Anston. One journey will operate to/from Thurcroft, Consort Hotel via Undergate Rd, Breck Lane, St Johns Rd, Laughton Village, Laughton Rd, School Rd, Green Arbour Rd, Katherine St and Brampton Rd.

In Handsworth buses are limited stop calling at the following stops: - Asda, Richmond Road Top, Rotherham Rd outbound/Beaver Hill Rd Bottom inbound then all stops to/from Dinnington.


NEW Service X14 Sheffield - Aston Circular -This new service will operate circular service between Sheffield and Aston and back to Sheffield. From Sheffield buses will operate through Catcliffe, Treeton to Aughton X-Rds then via Aughton Road, Rotherham Road to Swallownest then via Main Street, Worksop Rd, Wesley Ave, Holderness Drive, Aughton Lane, Worksop Rd, Lodge Lane, Mansfield Rd back to Swallownest then via Woodhouse Mill and Handsworth to Sheffield.

In Handsworth buses are limited stop calling at the following stops: - all stops to Beaver Hill Rd bottom then Richmond Rd Top and Asda.

NEW Service X15 Sheffield - Aston Circular This new service will operate between Sheffield and Aston the opposite way round to service X14 i.e. from Sheffield via Handsworth and Woodhouse Mill to Aston returning via Treeton and Catcliffe.

In Handsworth buses are limited stop calling at the following points: - Asda, Richmond Rd Top, Rotherham Rd then all stops to Aston and Sheffield.

The combined Sheffield - Swallownest
X4, X5, X14 & X15 frequency will be every 15 minutes Mon-Sat daytime with extra journeys at peak periods.

The combined Rotherham - Swallownest 25, 27, 29 frequency will be every 30 minutes Mon-Sat daytime with extra journeys at peak periods.
