Changes to Bus Services in Rotherham - 26th October 09

From Monday 26th October changes will be made to services operated by First in the above areas. Full details are as follows:

Kimberworth / Kimberworth Park / Thorpe Hesley

Service 6 Rotherham - Thorpe Hesley, 7 Rotherham - Blackburn & 8 Rotherham - Kimberworth Park - Minor timetable changes with the following service 6 journeys withdrawn: - 1500, 1530 and 1700 Rotherham to Thorpe Hesley.

Low Floor buses will operate services 7 & 8.

Services 39, 41, 42 Rotherham - Kimberworth Park - Changes to the timetable with frequency reduction early mornings and late evening.

Services 43 & 43A Rotherham - Kimberworth Park - Meadowhall - Service 43 will be withdrawn with all journeys operating as 43As once per hour.

Service 66 Rotherham - Thorpe Hesley - High Green - Sheffield - Changes to the timetable during the evenings Mon-Sat and all day Sundays to improve punctuality.


Wickersley / Ravenfield / Maltby

Services 1 & 2 Rotherham - Maltby - Changes to the timetable with frequency during the evenings and all day Sunday reduced to every 30 minutes. Some early morning journeys are withdrawn.

Service 3 & new 3A Rotherham - Ravenfield - Between Rotherham and Wickersley, Service 3 will operate via Stag instead of Rotherham Hospital (same route as the 1 & 2). One inbound morning peak journey and one outbound evening peak journey will continue to operate via Rotherham Hospital and will be numbered 3A.

Service 4 Rotherham - Ravenfield - Daytime frequency reduced to 1 bus per hour. A 30-minute Rotherham - Ravenfield service will be provided with 1 bus on svc 3 per hour and 1 bus on svc 4 per hour.

Service 10 & 10A Rotherham - Maltby - Minor changes to the timetable during the daytime, with some early morning journeys withdrawn.


Clifton / East Dene / Herringthorpe

Service 11 Rotherham - East Dene - Asda - The frequency will be reduced to every 20 minutes Mon-Fri and 30 minutes all day Saturday.

Service 14 Dovedale Road - Rotherham - Meadowhall - This service will operate between Rotherham and Dovedale Road only, via the existing route. The frequency will be reduced to every 20 minutes all day Mon-Fri, every 30 minutes all day Sat and every hour Sun daytimes.

Note Middle Lane/Chaucer Road will have a combined 11/14 frequency of 6 buses per hour Mon- Fri and 4 buses per hour on Sat.

Services 15 Rotherham - East Herringthorpe & 37 Rotherham - Thrybergh - Minor timetable change

Meadowhall / Sheffield

NEW Service 5 Rotherham - South St - Meadowhall - This service will operate between Rotherham Interchange and Meadowhall, replacing that section of Service 14 and following the same route.

Low Floor buses will operate this service.

Service 69 Rotherham - Tinsley - Sheffield - Minor timetable changes.

Service X78 Sheffield - Meadowhall - Rotherham - Doncaster - Minor timetable changes Mon-Sat late evenings and Sat early mornings.

Brinsworth

Service 31 - First will no longer operate this service although another operator may provide a replacement.

Service 32 - The frequency will be reduced to operate every 30 minutes Mon-Sat daytime.

Service 33 - The frequency will be reduced to operate every 30 minutes Mon-Sat daytime. One journey per hour will be extended from Treeton via Aughton, Aston, Swallownest and Beighton to Crystal Peaks partly replacing service 27. The route of the Crystal Peaks journeys will be as normal route to Treeton, Bole Hill then back along High Hazel Rd then Wood Lane, Treeton Lane, Aughton X-Rds, Main Street, Aston Lane, Mason Ave, Wesley Ave, Worksop Rd, Lodge Lane, Mansfield Rd, Swallownest Co-op then current 27 route to Crystal Peaks.

Rotherham/Brinsworth/Catcliffe combined frequency every 15 minutes

Broom Valley / Whiston village

Service 34 & NEW 35 - Service 34 will be reduced to operate every 30 minutes all day Mon-Sat daytime. On Mon-Fri new service 35 will operate every 30 minutes between Rotherham, Rotherham Hospital, Whiston X-Rds, Worry Goose Island and Whiston (Greystones Rd and Cow Rakes Lane). The route of the 35 will be from Rotherham via the 10 route to Worry Goose Island then the 34 route around Whiston. The combined frequency of 34 & 35 will be every 15 minutes Mon-Fri daytime. All buses will follow the 34 loop in Whiston via Greystones Rd, Moorhouse Lane, Cow Rakes Lane with no journeys extending via Whiston High Street to the Sitwell Arms.

Rotherham Hospital

New numbers operating between Rotherham and Rotherham Hospital are as follows: - 3A, 10, 10A, 25, 27, 29 & 35. Combined daytime frequency will be every 10 mins (5 at College times) Mon-Fri and every 15 mins Sat.

Most journeys will be operated by low floor buses.
