Cheaper weekend travel into London

Wednesday 9 September 2009

First Capital Connect is making the Super-Off Peak Day Return to London ticket permanent following a trial over the summer. The ticket was introduced in June and offered savings of at least 20% on weekend travel to London.

The ticket can now be used with GroupSave and Railcards meaning that even bigger discounts can be achieved. For example a group of three or four people can travel for the price of two at weekends – and the two paying customers would already be paying at least 20% less.

On top of this, up to four children aged 5-15 years can travel for up to £2 each with every adult and children under five years old travel for free. Tickets can be purchased at ticket offices, from Self Service Ticket Machines or online at the First Capital Connect website.

Michelle Smart, Director for Marketing, Communications and Customer Information at First Capital Connect said: "The ticket has been very popular over the summer and has offered great savings in these difficult economic times. We are delighted to make the ticket permanent and now in conjunction with GroupSave and various Railcards such as 16-25 and Senior – customers can get to London for great value at the weekend."
