SIXTY pupils from Ferryhill Primary School travelled in style this morning to see ‘Sinbad’ at the Aberdeen Arts Centre.

The coaching arm of city bus operator, First, donated two coaches to transport the pupils to and from the pantomime.

“Excitement levels amongst P1s was at fever pitch today,” said Ruth Legdon, Deputy Head Teacher at Ferryhill.  “The children thoroughly enjoyed Sinbad – it was a very entertaining performance.  We are very grateful to First for providing our transport – it was a real treat to travel in style today.”

Earlier in the month (December 6) First also donated its services to the school to transport 80 Primary 2 and 3 pupils to the same performance.

First provided support to Ferryhill Primary School following its application to First’s Charity and Sponsorship Committee.  Avril Gill, FirstGroup’s Marketing Manager, sits on the Committee.  “Particularly at this time of year, it is very rewarding to be able to support good causes,” she said.  “Throughout the year the Charity and Sponsorship Committee supports scores of deserving individuals, organisations and charities throughout the UK.”

She added; “I’m pleased that the children from Ferryhill Primary School enjoyed their trip to the Pantomime.”
