Finely tuned plan to support Carol Concert
First Aberdeen will once again be putting a highly-orchestrated plan in place to transport singers to and from rehearsals for this year’s Evening Express Carol Concert.
The event is a highlight in the festive calendar and First Aberdeen is delighted to be providing support with free transport for those taking part in rehearsals on Tuesday, 5 December and Wednesday, 6 December at St Mark’s Church.
Transport for the choristers and musicians is a massive undertaking and requires a finely tuned operation involving close collaboration between First Aberdeen and organisers. Over the course of the rehearsals, First Aberdeen will transport:
- More than 500 singers, musicians and teachers
- From 12 locations
- Locations include primary/secondary schools and Aberdeen School of Music
- First Aberdeen using three coaches and a minibus to ensure speedy and convenient travel for all
First Aberdeen Operations Director, David Phillips, said: “The Evening Express Carol Concert always gets the festive season off to a great start and we’re delighted to be providing free transport to and from rehearsals for hundreds of the performers.
“Providing transport for so many people from numerous locations requires a lot of planning and excellent timing but this is a real labour of love for our team, who look forward to the Carol Concert every year. It is a truly wonderful and thoroughly enjoyable community event, and something we’re always pleased to be a part of.”
