Bradford driver commended for heroic actions
A First Bradford bus driver has received a special commendation from the business after his actions stopped a serious incident from occurring.
On Thursday 18th January, bus driver, Steven, was travelling along Gaisby Lane in Shipley, when the vehicle skidded on black ice. Steven’s fast reactions meant that the vehicle came to a controlled stop and all passengers were safe.
After learning of Steven’s actions, the business has rewarded him with an official letter of commendation, as well as some shopping vouchers to enjoy.
Colin Brushwood, Operations Manager at First Bradford: “We’re grateful for his heroic actions and wanted to provide him with the recognition that he deserves. All of our drivers will follow the road safety procedure when faced with icy road conditions, but Steven’s reaction meant that all of the on-board passengers were protected and there was also minimal damage to the vehicle.”
