620 & 689 School Service Tickets [Anglo European School]
Welcome to the new 620 and 689 Anglo European School (AES) services.
First Essex operates a dedicated bus service transporting students to and from the Anglo European School. The 620 and 689 services operate Monday to Friday, in-line with the AES school calendar year and school opening and closing times. Both services offer safe and reliable transport from areas that do not otherwise have convenient public transport. We offer different ticket options to choose from, and the price of these services can be discounted with the purchase of a term time bus pass or a digital ticket that downloads directly to your child’s phone.
All prices exclude staff inset day, bank holidays, half-term break and school holidays. Paper tickets for term time i.e. autumn, spring, summer, will be posted to the nominated home address automatically throughout the academic year on receipt of payment. If a student travels without a bus pass they will be asked to pay the on-bus fare with cash.
Improvements will be made to the 620 and 689 bus services commencing September 2018. From the start of the autumn term, double decker buses will be introduced to the 620 and 689 routes, replacing the yellow school buses. This means more seats for the increasing number of students at the school.

To pay by debit/credit card please contact the Transport for Education team at Chelmsford travel shop on 07976 702 580. On receipt of payment, prior to the start of each term a bus pass will be dispatched in the post to the nominated address. Payment line closes Friday 31st August 2018.
3 payments across the academic year - to be paid prior to the start of each academic term.

6 payments to be paid prior to the start of each half-term.

All AES tickets * are classed as All Essex tickets. This not only allows travel on the 620 & 689 bus services but all First Essex services [except our airport services X10 & X30 and Park & Ride services]. The tickets are also valid for travel at the weekend at no additional charge. Other services that may prove useful are our 351 service between Chelmsford – Brentwood via Ingatestone and the 32/46 services between Chelmsford – Ongar.
* Please note that AES tickets are not available to purchase on-bus. They are only available to purchase online or at our Chelmsford Travel Shop.
Parents or guardians can apply to Essex County Council for subsidised travel to the nearest available school for their home address, if they live within the qualifying distance from that school. During the latter half of the summer term, year 11 and 13 students undertake study leave and exams, and will not require regular travel. The half term ticket is ideal for year 11 and 13 student travel as the 6th payment can be opted out of. Instead, students can pay on bus with cash when intermittently travelling. Please be advised that on-bus fares do not have the AES student discount applied.
You are responsible for ensuring that your child has a valid bus pass or ticket, otherwise your child will be asked to pay the cash fare to the driver. Please note that the pass is not valid unless it includes a photo card with a photograph inserted in the appropriate place. If a pass is lost or damaged it will need to be replaced. Replacement tickets/photo bus passes can be purchased at Chelmsford Travel Shop: 07976 702580 / 07976 701872. A £15.00 administration fee will be charged. We regret we cannot refund fares paid whilst awaiting a replacement ticket, but we do process replacement requests as a priority.
Exchange students will need to purchase a single or return ticket on the bus. Please be advised that on-bus fares do not have the AES student discount applied.
Yes, the morning and afternoon journeys may depart later or earlier to accommodate changes in school start or finishing times. Due to the split start times for the different year groups, the 620 & 689 will be operating four hours later than normal on the first day of term, Wednesday 5th September 2018; so it will be necessary for years 7 and 12 to make alternative arrangements to get to school on that morning. Please contact Anglo European School directly for confirmation of year group start times. We will be operating the normal afternoon service and so can transport all children home. Unfortunately, there is no discount for one-way travel and so the full cost is still payable for that day.
Anglo European School (AES) Service Subscription Ticket FAQ'S:
Tickets are only valid when accessed via our mTickets app so you will need to set up an mTickets account (there are no paper alternatives available for the subscription product). The mTickets App can be downloaded to your phone from the Apple App Store and Google Play. Your first payment for your AES Service subscription ticket is taken by Debit / Credit card so we can send you your ticket for the next day. This provides us enough time to process your application, but does not guarantee acceptance to the AES School Services subscription scheme should the set-up of your Direct Debit subsequently fail.
There is no minimum subscription period, however to end your AES Service subscription you will need to give us at least 10 working days’ notice before your ticket renewal date, to allow us to so stop your Direct Debit payments. If you do not provide us with enough notice you may be charged for the issuing of the subsequent month’s ticket.
After the initial card payment, your monthly Direct Debit payment is taken two working days before the ticket renewal date (renewal dates are the 5th of each calendar month). Please take into account weekends and bank holidays which are not counted as working days.

Please provide your name, customer reference number, phone number and email address. You must give us at least ten working days’ notice of your intention to cancel your AES Service subscription agreement or you may be charged for the issuing of the subsequent month’s ticket.
