FIRST BUS ANNOUNCE NEW COLLABORATION WITH NATIONAL CHARITY INCLUDEM
Local bus operator First Glasgow has announced a unique new collaboration with Glasgow-based national charity group, Includem.
Includem exists to support young people with complex and challenging needs who have perhaps lost trust in, or struggled to engage with other services. By providing an intensive, bespoke programme of support, Includem helps young people and their families to take constructive steps towards a more positive future.
This Sunday, Includem is hosting a Family Fun Day in Stirling to give families who are currently involved with its services a chance to relax and have fun together. First Glasgow will donate complimentary transport for families in Glasgow and the west to attend the event.
The bus operator is hopeful this event will be the first of many ways in which they can support such a worthy cause that has such a meaningful and direct effect on improving the lives of young families across Scotland.
First Glasgow Commercial Director, Graeme Macfarlan, said:
“Includem does incredible work to improve the lives of young people across the country and so we are delighted to be able to help support its event this weekend. We would love to build a lasting relationship with Includem going forward as we share the common goal of improving the lives of the people within the communities that we serve.”
Chief Executive of Includem, Martin Dorchester, said:
“Includem’s Family Fun Day is a really special day in our calendar. For many of the families we support, this is a rare chance to forget about the stresses of daily life and enjoy spending some quality time together. There will be an exciting range of activities on offer from sand art to bungee trampolines so it’s a fantastic opportunity for everyone to try something they haven’t had the chance to experience before.
“First Glasgow has shown its support of the Fun Day by generously donating buses which will help families from Glasgow and the west to access the venue. We really appreciate this very practical way of helping to make the day a big success.
“It’s the families taking part who really make this annual event something particularly special, so I hope this year’s Fun Day will create as many good and lasting memories for them, as I know it will for me.”
