Look after your child's travel the easy way
Our new ‘Ticket Sharing’ functionality is now live on our mTickets app.
Ticket sharing allows parents to purchase mobile bus tickets for their children (i.e. day, weekly, monthly or annual), and then transfer directly on their child’s phone, thus removing the need to store credit or debit card details on their child’s phone.
Young people will now be able to take access the discounts available on our mTickets app, discounts they couldn’t previously access without having their own credit or debit card.
This will benefit all bus users as we continue to encourage more customer to switch from cash to mobile payments, following our research which showed that average journey times would improve, if even half of customers used mobile ticketing.
The mobile Ticket App is easy to use and is available for free via the App Store and Google Play.
Step by Step
Once you’ve downloaded the app and purchased your ticket, it couldn’t be easier to share it with your child by following these simple steps*.
When on the ticket in your wallet,
click the share icon in the top right
Choose how you want to share this ticket
Confirm you want to share this ticket
The ticket has been shared, and the recipient
just needs to select claim on their phone**
* Some steps have been removed
** The First mTickets app must be installed on both the senders and recipients phones
Available to children under 11 and young people aged 11-16 who show a YOzone card or other photo ID, issued by a local or national government body or transport operator, clearly displaying their date of birth.The relevant ID card must be shown to the bus driver along with the activated mobile ticket.
