Claims for tickets during industrial action
What if I have already paid for my bus travel?
For customers who have already bought tickets, which they are unable to use as a result of withdrawn services due to strike action, we will aim to provide the opportunity to travel on another day. Please note we are unable to reimburse taxi fares or other travel expenses that our customers incur on the day of industrial action.
FirstWeek, FirstMonth, FirstAnnual or student paper tickets
Once your ticket has expired, please return it to: "Freepost FIRST BUS MCR" together with:
- your name and postal address
- details of the journeys you were unable to take.
We will then send a FirstDay ticket to you. Please note we cannot accept copies, only the original ticket.
Please allow up to 10 days for us to process your request.* If you have an account on our First Bus App , we can add a mobile ticket to your account in less time. Simply include details of the email address that your account is registered to, with your returned ticket, and tell us you would prefer an mTicket.
Download the First Bus App now:
Customers who were unable to use an active mTicket, should use the form at the bottom of our contact page to contact us.* We’ll need the email address that the First Bus App account is registered to, so we can add a FirstDay into your mTicket basket, for you to redeem at any time.
All other tickets
If your ticket isn't listed above, or if you need any further information, please use the form at the bottom of our contact page to get in touch with your question.
* PLEASE NOTE: We understand the inconvenience this will cause to our customers and will process claims as quickly as we can after any industrial action has taken place.
