Temporary timetable for Rochdale-Todmorden services this weekend
First Halifax and Calder Valley is introducing a temporary change to its services between Todmorden and Rochdale this weekend (Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November) due to the closure of Rochdale Road for demolition works to Shade Chapel.
On Saturday the 589 will divert to connect with the 590 service at Brier Lane in Mytholmroyd and continue onward journeys via Cragg Vale to Littleborough. Customers travelling to Rochdale will be able to transfer to the 587 and 588 services at Littleborough Square. The 590 service will terminate at Todmorden.
A limited timetable on the 590 service will run between Todmorden-Rochdale on Sunday using the same diversion via Mytholmroyd and Cragg Vale to Littleborough, from where trips to Rochdale will be served by a special 590 timetable and the 587 service operated by Yorkshire Tiger
The diversion will be in place until 0600 on Monday 30 November, when Rochdale Road is due to re-open. First Halifax and Calder advises customers that given the diversion, journey times will be longer and to plan ahead.
Paul Atkinson, Operations Manager at the Halifax depot, said: “We have looked closely at how best we can manage services to minimise disruption for our customers while this temporary road closure is in place. Creating a transfer and diversion in Mythholmroyd is the most efficient way to limit the added time journeys will take and we appreciate the patience of our customers during this coming weekend.”
The road closure means the Combined Authority has arranged a free shuttle bus between Walsden and Littleborough and details of the timetable can be found by visiting the WY Metro website.
