Cheaper tickets on mobile
We’ve frozen the price of tickets purchased in advance of boarding services in the region i.e. mobile tickets – to encourage quicker boarding and ticketing times.
Some tickets purchased directly from the driver have seen a small increase as the business aims to continue to deliver high quality services for customers however we have focused on keeping the popular weekly, monthly and annual passes as affordable as possible.
To see how much you could save visit our Save with mTicket page.
Why are we doing it?
Put simply, if less people pay by cash then the time it takes for everyone to board the bus goes down. There’s less waiting and queueing and less chance of this causing the bus to run late for the rest of the journey.
We hope that encouraging people to switch to mTickets can speed things up for everyone and help keep your bus running on time.
While we can’t control the increasingly challenging traffic in Leeds, by asking our customers to switch the way they pay we can help speed up journeys.
What’s more, research* suggests that 78% of smart phone users that use public transport, always use their phone when travelling, and with the price freeze announced for mobile tickets, the business is looking to increase the number of people using the mobile Ticket app.
Why are mTickets better?
We already have 15,000 people using the mobile Ticket app. Existing customers who use mTickets find them easier and more convenient than cash. With no paper ticket to lose and no need to find cash every morning, there are some real benefits. And with mTickets, you can sit at home and buy your ticket with your credit/debit card so it’s ready to go when you are.
Plus, unlike a paper ticket, if you lose or break your phone, we can transfer the remainder of your ticket onto a new phone!
