Changes to Network Norwich & Coastal Clipper 99 services - from 1st April 2019
From Monday 1st April 2019, we’re making changes to some Network Norwich bus services and to our Coastal Clipper 99 service.
These changes have come about as a result of our ongoing review of demand, usage and punctuality, through our ongoing partnership with local stakeholders and the need to replace some provision for services being withdrawn by another operator.
Taverham Village (29) - Taverham - Drayton Road - City Centre
We're extending the route of some off-peak journeys on Mondays to Saturdays on service 29 beyond Shakespeare Way & Orchard Bank to serve Drayton, School Road.
This will replace journeys on service 30 (supported by Norfolk County Council) which will no longer extend to Drayton, Thorpe Marriott and Taverham.

Taverham - Thorpe Marriott - Drayton - Hellesdon Mill Corner or Hellesdon Hercules Road - Heigham Street - City Centre
As a result of extremely low useage on some sections of route (sometimes as low as single figures each day) we are withdrawing all journeys on service 30 that travel beyond Hellesdon to Drayton, Taverham and Thorpe Marriott. Some off-peak journeys on Yellow Line 29 will be extended to serve Drayton, School Road as a part replacement for this service (see above).
A new circular service 30 will operate every hour off-peak Monday to Saturday and will follow the following route:
City Centre - Heigham Street - Drayton Road - City View Road - Hercules Road - Reepham Road - Middletons Lane - Hospital Lane - Hellesdon Mill Corner - Drayton Road - Heigham Street - City Centre

Bungay - Poringland - Norwich City Centre
We're making some minor changes to the times of buses across the day on all Charcoal Line services. We're also adding some evening journeys into the city and home again that are funded by Norfolk County Council.
The new timetable will also include Sunday and Public Holidays services on the Charcoal Line that will be operated on behalf of Norfolk County Council by Konectbus.
As a result of the withdrawl of Konectbus service 88, we have worked with Suffolk County Council to provide a number of connecting journeys beyond Bungay to & from Halesworth and Southwold. These will run as service 99A and will require a simple change of bus in Bungay town centre. The times of these buses, and the Charcoal Line services that they will connect with are shown in the new Charcoal Line timetable.
Passengers wishing to travel on services across Bungay must purchase an Explorer ticket for a day or longer which can be used in the Coastal Zone (which will now extend inland to cover Halesworth and Bungay) and the Norwich Zone. Prices of all these tickets can be found on our Ticket Finder, whilst you can see how far your ticket can take you on our Zone Maps.

Lowestoft - Kessingland - Southwold
As a result of the withdrawl of Konectbus service 88, we are working with Suffolk County Council to provide a number of journeys extended beyond Southwold to Halesworth and onto Bungay (for connections to Charcoal Line 41|X41 buses) on Mondays to Saturdays.
These new journeys will be numbered 99A (except for one schoolday journey in each direction numbered 99H), and will provide connections at Southwold to & from Lowestoft with no change of bus required. The route taken will be:
Southwold (Kings Head) - Reydon (The Drive) - Blythburgh A12 bus stops - Wenhaston - Blyford - Holton - Halesworth - Ilketshall - Bungay
The route will also include the Durban Close, Dukes Drive areas of Halesworth, providing an approximately hourly service between here and Halesworth town centre & rail station.
As a result of the introduction of these journeys, some buses will no longer serve Southwold Pier.
Buses beyond Southwold to Halesworth and as far as Bungay will be included in the Coastal Zone. Passengers wishing to travel on services across Bungay must purchase an Explorer ticket for a day or longer which can be used in the Coastal Zone and the Norwich Zone. Prices of all these tickets can be found on our Ticket Finder, whilst you can see how far your ticket can take you on our Zone Maps.
