Changes to Network Norwich services - from Sunday 17th September 2017
From Sunday 17th September, we’re making a number of changes to some Network Norwich bus services. These changes have come about as a result of our ongoing review of demand & usage, passenger suggestions and through our ongoing partnership with local stakeholders.
Old Catton - Fiddlewood - City Centre - West Earlham - Bowthorpe - N&NUH or UEA
We will be running more often in the evenings from Monday to Saturday, with buses calling at both the UEA and N&NU Hospital up to every 30 minutes.
There will be minor changes to the timetable on all days to help us to run on time more easily when the traffic is heavy.
Unfortunately, due to extremely low passenger numbers, we will no longer be operating the two journeys Monday to Friday journeys to & from Spixworth road. Passengers wishing to travel from here should use Sanders Coaches route 210 - details can be found at www.sanderscoaches.com
Heartsease Estate or Thorpe St Andrew - Heartsease - City Centre - Dereham Road - Costessey - Lodge Farm or Queens Hills
Red Line 23, 23A, 23B – Heartsease to Costessey
Buses will leave Heartsease, Sale Road around 2 minutes earlier to allow more time to travel around the Heartsease Estate. There will also be some other minor timetable changes on all days.
Red Line 24, 24A – Thorpe St Andrew to Costessey, Queens Hills
Buses will leave Sainsbury's in Thorpe St Andrew around 2 minutes earlier, to allow more time to travel between there and the Heartsease roundabout. There will also be some other minor timetable changes on all days.
Riverside & Rail Station - City Centre - Unthank Road (25) or Earlham Road (26) - UEA - N&NU Hospital (26)
Blue Line 25 – UEA to Rail Station / Riverside
To coincide with the start of the new University year, we will be running buses more frequently - up to every 10 minutes -throughout the day Monday to Friday.
We will also be running more often on Sundays, with a bus up to every 20 minutes during the day.
Unfortuntunately, due to very low passenger numbers, Blue Line 25 buses will no longer operate via Carrow Road and NCFC Football Ground and will serve both the Rail Station and Riverside/Morrisons travelling via Riverside Road. Carrow Road will continue to be served by Blue Line 26 buses during the day as at present.
Blue Line 26 – N&N Hospital / UEA to Rail Station / Riverside
We will be running more often on Sundays, with a bus up to every 20 minutes during the day.
However, due to low passenger numbers, buses will not run to and from the N&NU Hospital on Sundays. Passengers wishing to travel between the city centre and hospital can use Pink Line buses, running up to every 30 minutes.
There will be some other minor changes to the timetable to help us to run on time more easily when the traffic is heavy.
Thorpe Marriott (28) or Taverham (29) - Fakenham Road - Drayton - Asda - City Centre
We will be changing the times of the early morning buses into the city on weekdays to give a bus up to every 10 minutes at the busiest time of the day.
All journeys numbered 28A will be renumbered as 28 and will follow the normal daytime route into and out of the city via Anglia Square. Heigham Street will continue to be served by buses on the 30|30A routes during the day.
Purple Line 36 – Horsford to Norwich
We will be running NEW journeys to & from the city centre on Sundays, with up to six buses across the day rather than the current two.
There will be some other minor changes to the timetable across the day, including a new journey on Mondays to Fridays to Horsford leaving the city centre at 1940. In addition, the 2310 36B journey will be renumbered 36 and will follow the normal route.
Purple Line 37 – Hellesdon to Mulbarton
We will be making some minor changes to times of buses from the city in the afternoons and in both directions in the evening.
In addition, we will be running a NEW Sunday service, numbered 37B, between the city centre and Mulbarton, travelling via Lakenham with five journeys in both directions.
Evening 37B buses will run at new times, with journeys departing from the city at 1835 and 1935 and returning from Mulbarton at 1902 and 2002.
Purple Line 38 – Ives Road and Norwich to Long Stratton
There will be changes to the times of afternoon peak journeys to Ives Road with new later journeys on Mondays to Fridays leaving the city centre at 1820 and 1855.
We will also be making some minor changes to the times of afternoon journeys between the city centre and Long Stratton.
