Buying mTickets on the First Bus App >> is the most convenient way to buy tickets 24 hours a day 7 days a week and they are often cheaper, so why not buy before you travel?
With a wide range available, including weekly and monthly tickets, there’s no need to have the right change as you can make your purchase in advance. Simply scan your mobile ticket when you hop on board, and you’re ready to go.

Some tickets can be sent to your mobile, your email address or by post. We also offer direct debit subscriptions for some longer-term tickets.
Sending tickets to your mobile using the First Bus App is the quickest option, and could even save you money.

On the Bus
Contactless payments >>, Apple pay, Google pay and cash are accepted on our buses. We are currently asking customers only to use cash if they really have to - if you can pay with contactless or mTicket, please do to reduce transmission of coronavirus
Travel Shop
Our travel shop is closed from 5 November due to lockdown measures introduced by the government
Our travel shop is located in the City Centre bus station in Hanley selling a full range of First tickets plus day trips and National Express tickets.

Tickets also available at Castle House, Barracks Road in Newcastle (the new council building) open Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 4.30 pm - Potteries and Network month, 3month and annual tickets are available for adults and young people plus student month and annual tickets. Castle House is closed until further notice.
If you're buying monthly and longer tickets from our travel shop or Castle House you'll need to provide a passport sized photo (if you don't already have a photocard). If you're buying a young person ticket you may also be asked for proof of age.
