Lost Property
If you think you have left an item on one of our buses, in the first instance please contact our Customer Services helpline. You will then be redirected to someone who can help at the appropriate local depot. It would be helpful if you could have the following information available:
To claim your property, you will need to provide proof of identity. For high value items such as mobile phones, proof of ownership may be required. In accordance with the The Public Service Vehicles (Lost property) Regulations 1978, First charges a fee depending on its value - to a maximum of £2 + VAT. Perishable goods will not be kept more than 48 hours. All other property will be kept for one month. Please hand anything accidentally left on a bus to your driver. Any lost property found on our vehicles, providing the item is not perishable, will be kept for one month, with the exception of debit and credit cards. In the case of debit and credit cards, the issuing bank will be contacted (where a contact number is provided on the card) when the card is handed in to the local lost property office and our staff will follow any instructions given by the bank. If not claimed within 24 hours of receipt at the local lost property office the card will be securely destroyed. |
