Updates to our Southampton Network
From Sunday 2 September 2018, we will be making some timetable and route alterations to services in our Southampton network, all of which are designed to improve punctuality. Here is a summary of the changes taking place:
the three: Lordshill Centre – Thornhill, Fairfax Court:
After feedback from customers and stakeholders, we have decided (subject to approval from the Traffic Commissioner) to continue to serve Ocean Village, but then divert to serve Town Quay instead of Orchard Place and Briton Street in both directions. There will also be some timetable changes, including the Sunday timetable frequency which will be increased to every 12 minutes.
Solent Ranger X4/X5: Southampton - Fareham – Portsmouth/Gosport:
To avoid traffic delays in Saltmarsh Road, Royal Crescent Road, Canute Road and to improve punctuality, the Solent Ranger X4/X5 will divert away from Ocean Village and instead operate via Central Bridge and Terminus Terrace. There will be some timetable alterations to improve punctuality, including a reduction in frequency during the early morning and early evening.
On Sunday’s Solent Ranger X4 will now serve the D-Day stories via Southsea.
City Red 6: Southampton City Centre – Hamble:
There will be a new timetable to improve punctuality throughout the route. Monday-Friday morning and afternoon peak journeys will no longer serve Woolston Road and Ingleside, but operate direct via Hound Way.
From all of us here at First in Southampton, including City Red, we wish you a pleasant journey with us, and if you have enjoyed your time on board one of our buses, why not leave us some feedback? Visit: tellfirstbus.com for more information.
