Roadworks in York - Diversions to your bus
The historic streets of York are delightfully photogenic, but those narrow lanes don’t lend themselves to the congestion in the city when the roads are being dug up. Now we all like to be kept safe and sound, so the maintenance – how ever disruptive – is essential! Here’s what we’re doing to keep you moving around York for the next nine weeks.
Diversions will take place from Monday 22 January on some First York bus services 3, 4, 9, 59 and 66 and a slight amendment to the 6’s route that will not go to Station Avenue but will instead turn right onto Lendal Bridge.
The 3, 4 and 59 going into York City Centre will not serve the station – instead they will go towards the city via Nunnery Lane towards Clifford Street. For the station, please alight at Blossom Street.
Park & Ride 9 Monks Cross towards the city centre will not be able to serve Roughier Street or Micklegate – you will be able to get off and on the bus at stop TG on Clifford Street
Your Bus 66 towards the University of York
This will run normal route from the university to the train station. From the train station to the uni, buses will depart from the opposite side of the road, and then travel via Nunnery Lane to pick up the normal route at Merchangate.
Please cross the road safely to pick up the bus on the side you would normally alight.
