York student wins cash prize from 66 bus operator
A University of York student has received a cash prize from bus operator First York, after entering a competition at the start of term.
Jack Woodruff, a third-year maths student, was presented with a cheque for £500 by the First York marketing team this week. Jack, who is a regular user of First York bus services, was shocked to receive the prize and is now planning to treat his family to extra special presents this Christmas.
Speaking about the competition and the local bus services, Suzie Harker, Marketing Executive at First York, said: “We’re proud to operate the University of York bus services and it was a pleasure to meet Jack and present him with his cheque.
“Bus travel provides you with the freedom to get to University, without the hassle of trying to find a parking space. We operate buses every 7 to 8 minutes at peak times from Monday to Saturday and every 10 minutes on Sundays. Tickets are available to buy directly from your mTickets app before you board the bus.”
