All new buses to the University of York
The all new university buses, faster, cleaner and more frequent, from Sunday 20 May
We’ve listened to your feedback and made changes, not just to the cleanliness of the windows, but also to your journey time to and from the university.
From Sunday 20 May these improvements will be in place:
Buses now run every 7/8 minutes Monday-Friday, every 10 minutes Saturday and every 15 on Sundays.
66 route change
- At Heslington Hall it travels along Field Lane to University Campus East (as the current 66A) in both directions
- In the city centre, from the University to Clifford Street stopping at Micklegate, Rougier Street, train station, Nunnery Lane then direct to Merchantgate (like the diversion for the Lendal Gyratory but without the waiting time!)
- Departs from stand RJ at the train station
Buses have been increased to run every 15 minutes Monday-Saturday and every 30 minutes on Sundays
66a route change
At Heslington Hall the bus travels along Lakeside Way to York Sport Village (like the current 66) in both directions. This road is the fifthly culprit – by reducing the number of buses on that road we’re helping keep the windows and floors clean!
66x – your morning express service from York train station direct to the University of York.
This bus will run three trips at 0730, 0800, 0820 on Monday-Friday (term time mornings only)
We don’t want the night owls to have to go too far so from midnight to 4am we will stop at Salt & Peppers to get you back home through Coppergate!
